Goodwill Works Overview

Since its establishment in 1933, Goodwill Industries, Inc. has proudly served Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa by helping thousands of individuals fulfill their dream of obtaining gainful employment. The proceeds from our retail stores subsidize our free employment programs.

Whether you’re entering the workforce for the first time or just looking for additional training, certification, and skills to help you land a better job, Goodwill Works can help you!

How it works: Contact and connect with us at any of our training centers. A Goodwill Employment Navigator offers supportive services to help you overcome barriers to employment. GO Connect

Goodwill utilizes its network of employer partners to help you connect with a job. We also can identify opportunities for gaining new skills, provide the needed training to help you achieve these skills and help you find that new job.

Employment Connections: Employment Partners are in the communities of Omaha, Blair, Council Bluffs, Fremont, and Gretna. Let Us Work for You. We work with employers to understand their needs so we can facilitate placements and connect qualified applicants that fit your requirements.

Hiring Events and Career Fairs are conducted at our Benson Park Plaza and Stockyard Plaza. We participate in community outreach recruitment events to help match our business partners with qualified candidates and new prospects. Our hiring events and career fairs are open to the public, and we invite businesses of all types to participate. This approach provides candidates with opportunities to consider new industries.

GO Train

Each program includes 144 hours of PAID classroom instruction and requires 2,000 hours of on-the-job training with an employer partner.

Another pathway to a healthcare career is our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training which is offered multiple times a year at Benson Park Plaza and Stockyard Plaza locations. The training is two weeks, and participants earn certification and are prepared to start a career in healthcare.

Our UpSkilling classes are offered on a regular basis and are listed on our website at GoodwillOmaha.org/calendar. There are opportunities to learn computer skills, software, financial literacy, or improve Microsoft Office skills.
