Sustainability at Goodwill Omaha
Turning Donations Into Impact
At Goodwill Omaha, sustainability isn’t a trend; it’s our mission in action.
Every time you donate, shop, or round up your purchase, you’re helping keep usable goods out of landfills and giving them a second life in our community. Together, we’re reducing waste, conserving resources, and creating opportunities for individuals and families across the Omaha metro.
How We Make an Impact
Extending the Life of Goods
Clothing, furniture, housewares, electronics, and more; when you donate to Goodwill Omaha, your items are thoughtfully sorted and prepared for sale. By keeping products in circulation longer, we reduce the demand for new manufacturing and minimize environmental impact.
Keeping Millions of Pounds Out of Landfills
Last year, Goodwill Omaha recycled 9.2 million pounds of material, keeping them from local landfills. Items that can’t be sold in our stores are responsibly recycled whenever possible, from textiles to metals and electronics.
Funding Job Training & Community Programs
Sustainability at Goodwill goes beyond the environment. Revenue generated from donated goods supports job training, employment placement, and community-based programs that empower people to build brighter futures.
When you choose Goodwill, you’re investing in both people and the planet.
